Help me celebrate by providing wheelchairs to men, women, and children in need in parts of the world where medical care is not only difficult to come by, but where people with special needs are often forced to drag themselves by their hands, or even worse. Many families who have members with disabilities live in extreme poverty because they have to stay home to care for their families; if they had access to a wheelchair, their children would have opportunities for education and care and their families would be more likely to flourish. 

Joni Eareckson Tada's ministry has always been special to me - I remember reading her book probably 40 years ago! Now that I've had the opportunity to work with her and can call her 'friend', I am blown away at God's faithfulness displayed through her. She is heroic in every sense of the word.  

So for my 50th birthday, which is February 23rd, I would like to provide as many wheelchairs as we can round up!! Won't you help me work towards that goal? An adjustable chair for a child is $220, and an adult chair is $150.  How about $1100 for 5 children's chairs? Or $2200 for ten? Wouldn't that be awesome?
